Bigger Muscles & Better Work Outs with B Vitamins

Sport and exercise are important. But strenuous exercise can damage and even

injure your muscles. Muscle regeneration can be a slow process. New research

is suggesting that a duo of B vitamins can speed it up.


After muscle damage, muscle regeneration is driven by muscle stem cells.

A just published double-blind, placebo-controlled study asked 39 men with an

average age of 26.7 years to do a single session of damaging high intensity

muscle contractions. It then gave them either a placebo or 714mg of B3 in the

form of niacinamide and 19mg of B6 for 9 days.


The B vitamins was significantly more effective than placebo. Muscle stem cells

were 29% higher, and regenerating muscle fibers were 37% higher. The B

vitamins were safe and caused no adverse events.


There are no conventional treatments that specifically target muscle stem cells

for promoting muscle repair and recovery. But this study shows that a

combination of B3 and B6 enhances muscle stem cells and accelerates muscle

regeneration and repair.
